Son of Élie Senécal (deceased in 1894) and Édouardina Crépeau (deceased in 1918), of St-Pierre-de-Sorel, Richelieu, Québec. Husband of Marie-Louise Mongeau, of Sorel, Québec. He stated being single when he enlisted, but declared he was married once arrived in England.
