Baptized Joseph-Rosario-Frédéric. Son of Dominique Corbeil and Caroline Bilodeau, of Montréal, Québec.

With the 22nd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he embarked in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on 20 May 1915 aboard the HMT Saxonia. The ship docked in Plymouth, England, on the 29th. On 15 September, he landed at Boulogne, Pas-de-Calais, France. He was killed in action on 30 April 1916 in the craters of Saint-Éloi, Belgium. He was buried the same day.

ELZENWALLE BRASSERIE CEMETERY is located 5 Km south west of Ieper town centre, on the Kemmelseweg, a road connecting Ieper to Kemmel (N331).

From Ieper town centre the Kemmelseweg is reached via the Rijselsestraat, through the Lille Gate (Rijselpoort), and straight on towards Armentieres (N365). 900 m after the crossroads is the right hand turning onto the Kemmelseweg. (Made prominent by a railway level crossing).

The ELZENWALLE BRASSERIE CEMETERY lies 4 Km along the Kemmelseweg on the right hand side of the road.
