Son of Joseph Bergeron and Adélaïde Bergeron of Kénogami, Saguenay, Québec.

Rosario enlisted four months before he was 18 years old.

From the 69th Reserve Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion on 22 August 1916. On 18 August 1917, he was seriously wounded in action at the Battle of Lens, Pas-de-Calais, France, on Hill 70 by shrapnel. Admitted to the 6th Canadian Clearing Station, he died of his wounds on 24 August 1917.

Location:

Barlin is a village about 11 kilometres south-west of Bethune on the D188, between the Bethune-Arras and Bethune-St. Pol roads, about 6.5 kilometres south-east of Bruay. The BARLIN COMMUNAL CEMETERY and EXTENSION lie to the north of the village on the D171 road to Houchin.
