Son of Modeste Bourassa and Philomène Lussier-dit-Lucier (deceased in 1914) of Chellwood, Saskatchewan.

Severely wounded during the assault on Hill 70, near Lens, he was evacuated to the Casualty clearing station n° 6, in Bruay, where he died the same day.

Brother of Private Joseph Bourassa, who was killed in action while serving with the 5th Battalion during the Battle of Amiens.

Location:

Barlin is a village about 11 kilometres south-west of Bethune on the D188, between the Bethune-Arras and Bethune-St. Pol roads, about 6.5 kilometres south-east of Bruay. The BARLIN COMMUNAL CEMETERY and EXTENSION lie to the north of the village on the D171 road to Houchin.
