Document – Harry Matthew Thompson (or Matthew Harry Thompson) is one of the 42 men commemorated on Kipling Special Memorials at the Railway Dugouts Burial Ground (Transport Farm), Belgium. The E-13 War Graves Register notes that he, like the others, was buried at the Valley Cottages site, however his file states "Albert" (France), which is questioned and Ypres (Belgium) was added. Neither of these appear possible, as on that date of May 2, 1917 the 5th Infantry Battalion was in the rest and training camps vicinity of Houdain (France). There are no reported casualties for the battalion on that date.

Grave marker – Valley Cottages Cemetery Zillebeek Memorial - Inscription reads: "To the memory of these 72 Soldiers of the British Empire killed in action in 1915, 1916 and 1917 and buried at the time in Valley Cemetery and Transport Farm Annexe Zillebeek whose graves were destroyed in later battles.
