Monument in Apple Hill, Ontario erected by Glengarry Branch 312 of the Canadian Legion. Garret (Garry) McDonald and his brother Douglas Claire McDonald, who was killed in the Second World War, are both commemorated on this memorial.

Garret McDonald's brother, Douglas Claire McDonald was killed on June 7, 1944 and he is buried in BENY-SUR-MER CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY Calvados, France. His death was announced in casualty list No 511 of the Canadian Army Overseas, released on July 17, 1944. Source: Globe and Mail July 18, 1944
