Son of Marie Champlain, of 222 St-Dominique, Montreal.

Enlisted in the 69th Reserve Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he arrived in England on 28 April 1916. He was first transferred to the 22nd Battalion on 27 September 1916, then to the 172nd Mining Company from 14 February to 12 March 1917, and to the 2nd Army Troop Company from 16 March 1916 to 3 September 1917, when he was transferred to the 10th Reserve Battalion. On 29 March 1918, he returned to the 22nd Battalion to join the Canadian Corps Reinforcement Camp temporarily from 29 March to 18 June 1918. He was killed in action on 28 August 1918, at the Battle of Chérisy, France.

Take the D38 from Cherisy to Hendecourt. Approximately 2 kilometres from Cherisy turn left just before Sun Quarry Cemetery onto a dirt track. Continue for 1 kilometre before turning left to arrive at Quebec Cemetery.
