Baptized Joseph-Armand-Émery Lambert. Son of Francis « Frank » Lambert and Marie Beauregard, of Stettin, Alberta.
He stated being born in Lewiston, Maine, when he enlisted.
Enlisted in the 233rd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He was assigned to the 178th Battalion in early March 1917. He sailed for Great Britain on March 3, 1917, with that unit and landed in England on the 4th. Meanwhile, on the 14th, he was assigned to the 10th Reserve Battalion before being temporarily seconded to the 5th Battery Reserve Brigade. On May 25, 1918, he was buried alive by the debris from a shell explosion near Mercatel and Boisleux-St-Mars, in the Arras region, Pas-de-Calais. He was killed in action on August 27, 1918, during the Battle of Chérisy by machine-gun fire while participating in the attack from Wancourt toward Chérisy.
Military medal for bravery in action during the Battle of Amiens on August8-9, 1918 and Bar (posthumously awarded) for bravery in action on August 27, 1918, during the assault on Chérisy.
