Son of Lt. Col. Georges-Stanislas Vien and Marie-Eugénie Martin, of Lauzon, Lévis. His father served with the militia for over 30 years and was in charge of the 6e Régiment d’artillerie in Lévis from 1899 to 1907.
Husband of Yvonne Arsenault (married in 1913), of Lévis, Québec.
Louis-Stanislas enrolled with the artillery of the Permanent Force in 1905 and joined the 22nd Battalion as adjutant in 1914. He served with different units during the war and was killed when he was serving with the 22nd Battalion in Chérisy.
