Location:

Ovillers is a village about 5 kilometres north-east of the town of Albert off the D929 road to Bapaume. The OVILLERS MILITARY CEMETERY is approximately 500 metres west of the village on the D20 road to Aveluy. The OVILLERS MILITARY CEMETERY is signposted in the village.

309 Lt-Col Frederick Christian Heneker (RMC 1895) was the son of Richard William and Elizabeth Tuson Heneker, of Sherbrooke, Quebec. He was the husband of Constance Heneker, of Bickley, Kent. He served with the Leinster Regiment. He died on Jul 1, 1916.  He was buried in the Ovillers Military Cemetery, Somme, France.
  • Memorial– On their 50th anniversary the class of August 1915 at the Royal Military College of Canada have placed this memorial stained glass window to honour their fallen classmates.

309 Lt-Col Frederick Christian Heneker (RMC 1895) was the son of Richard William and Elizabeth Tuson Heneker, of Sherbrooke, Quebec. He was the husband of Constance Heneker, of Bickley, Kent. He served with the Leinster Regiment. He was killed in action on Jul 1, 1916.  He was buried in the Ovillers Military Cemetery, Somme, France.
