Villers-Bretonneux is a village 16 kilometres east of Amiens on the straight main road to St Quentin. The Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery is about 2 kilometres north of the village on the east side of the road to Fouilloy.

Southampton Cenotaph – John William Shields was born November 14th, 1894 in Chippawa Hill, Ontario. Prior to the war, Shields was a farm hand. He originally enlisted in the 160th Battalion CEF on January 22nd, 1916 in Southampton. He name appears on the Southampton Cenotaph in Bruce County, Ontario. The Cenotaph includes plaques with the names of men from World Wars 1 & 2. The WWI list is inscribed: "In grateful remembrance of the men of Southampton who fought and died in the Great War". This photograph was taken by Mr. Clive Freeman in the summer of 2002.
