'
For conspicuous gallantry. Lance-Sergeant Jackson and Private Hutchison accompanied the Battalion Grenade Officer into the enemy's trench and remained there reconnoitring for half an hour. Valuable information resulted from this hazardous expedition.' 1914-15 Star
