Additional information

Son of Robert Knott and Mary Maria Tibbo of Burgeo, Burgeo-La Poile, Newfoundland. Brother of Private Cecil James Knott, regimental number 2882, 1st Battalion, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, who died in captivity in Cologne, Germany, on 2 May 1917.

 

This two-masted, wooden-hulled schooner left St-Pierre-Miquelon for Catalina, New Zealand, on 10 December 1917 and was reported missing. She and the six sailors on board were never heard from again. The date of death for these men, all from Burgeo, Newfoundland, was the date of her departure.
