Son of Sailor Andrew Wilson, who lost his life on the same day as his son, Andrew and while both serving on the same steam ship. Mrs. Mary Wilson, of St. John's, Newfoundland was his mother.
The Beverly sailed from Munn's wharf at Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, on 21 January 1918 with a cargo of salt codfish and codfish liver oil destined for Greece. She was reported missing with her 24 crew members. Her death was recorded as having occurred on 21 January 1918, although her fate is not known. No German submarine has claimed to have sunk her. His son Andrew Wilson also lost his life in the sinking of the Beverly.
