Son of Richard Vincent and Kate (nee Brown) Marshall of Jasper, Ontario. Brother of Nellie Eileen, William John, James Francis, Donald Robert and Goldie May. He was single and stated he was a laborer. He attended Merrickville Public and Continuation Schools. He enjoyed softball, hocket and baseball, and his hobbies were taxidermy, woodworking, collecting stamps and camping. He was also a Boy Scout. Leading Seaman Marshall is commemorated on the Cenotaph in Merrickville, Ontario, not far from his parents home in Jasper, Ontario.
