Cover of the original program distributed at the unveiling of the Sherbrooke WWI memorial on November 7th, 1926, and two images of the monument. The monument was designed by Mr. G. W. Hill of Montreal, Quebec with bronze figures cast in Belgium and granite from the Stanstead district. The bronze Memorial tablet lists 249 names.

The "Circumstance of Death" file for Private Rushbrook states that he was "killed in action" on 16 April 1917, while the unit was at Woodman Camp to the south east of Villers-Au-Bois. That is the correct placement of the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles on 16 April 1917 but it is not where the remains were recovered. All evidence suggests that he was killed inaction on the 17th, as confirmed on the location where his remains were recovered and as marked on the trench map.

Private Rushbrook's E-13 war graves register has the same error showing his exhumation location as 36c.A.3.b.5.2 instead of the correct location of 51b.A.3.b.5.2. This is confirmed by the "Concentration of Graves (Exhumation and Re-burials) Burial Return" filed at the time of the remains recovery. That location is also confirmed by the War Diary. This was a common error at the time as the unit was moving from 51b.A.3 north into 36c.T.26, just a short distance to the east of Vimy.

The remains of Private Rushbrook were reburied in the La Chaudiere British Cemetery on 13 August 1919. They were recovered in the Sector 51a.A.3.b.x.y (no grid references given for "x" and "y"). It is reported that a Battalion Cross showed that his date of death was 17 April 1917.

To assist the family of Private Rushbrook that will be visiting the area where he was killed, an overlay of the Trench Map (coordinates now confirmed as 51b.A.3.b.5.2) was prepared on Google Earth.The GPS coordinates where the remains were recovered are 50°21'38.88"N 2°46'4.08"E.
