Initially there was a proposal to build a memorial on the church property, but instead it was decided to financially help the Mansfield memorial. The church then raised money for this baptismal font which was dedicated on 9 November 1919 by Catherine Jamieson, mother of Robert Charles Jamieson of the 5th Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps, who died of wounds on 30 August 1918. The Memorial Font honours the men of the parish who died in the First World War.
