This memorial is dedicated to the British Soldiers who served in the Fredericton Garrison and is located next to the original British Army Memorial Cairn. Erected by the City of Fredericton, it is 289 cm high; 167 cm wide and 134 cm deep.
The cross was unveiled on August 13, 1985, by Lieutenant Governor Honourable George F.G. Stanley. At the ceremony he was quoted saying, “I salute the memory of the officers and men of the British garrison regiments who served in Canada between 1785 and 1869. Theirs is a tradition of service and loyalty. May we never forget them.”
