Indigenous Veterans Day, observed annually on November 8, is an opportunity to recognize and honour the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis veterans who have served Canada with courage and distinction. Many Indigenous Peoples answered the call to serve despite facing significant barriers and inequities, making invaluable contributions in times of war, conflict, and peacekeeping. Their stories of service, sacrifice, and resilience are an important part of Canada’s history and continue to inspire reflection, respect, and reconciliation.

You Are Invited!

We have been working hard on this over the last year, and we are delighted to invite you to join us. On September 26, a monument honouring the No. 2 Construction Battalion, Canada's first and only Black battalion, formed in 1916, will be unveiled at Veterans' Park.

*Dress for military members: DEU 1A (Medals), veterans: business dress with medals.

Hosted by Jaku Konbit and DTBEN: Building Our Community Together.
