The City of Toronto will commemorate No. 2 Construction Battalion of the First World War’s Canadian Expeditionary Force with the unveiling of a Heritage Toronto plaque to be placed at the corner of King Street West and University Avenue, close to the original site of the Battalion’s enlistment office at 162 King Street West. This plaque unveiling ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Church (73 Simcoe St). All are welcome to attend. No.

The Pillar Society will continue its tradition at the CSIS National Memorial Cemetery of commemorating and remembering all those who served Canada at home and abroad in the Canadian military or in civilian roles.

We pay tribute to those who have made personal contributions involving commitment, hardship and sacrifice, and we remember in particular the tens of thousands of Canadians who paid the ultimate price in the First and Second World Wars, in Korea, in Afghanistan and in dozens of peacekeeping missions over the past 100 years.

The Candlelight Tribute is an annual Veterans’ Week event planned collaboratively between Veterans Affairs Canada and the Canadian War Museum.

This meaningful event brings everyone together to honour the service, sacrifices, and resilience demonstrated by all those who have served Canada.

On Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 at 10:30 am at the the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood will host the 8th Annual No Stone Left Alone event where School students, members of the Canadian Armed Forces, and the community at large unite in a remembrance experience.

The ceremony involves students and others placing poppies on each and every soldier’s headstone in different sections of the cemetery to honour Canada's fallen military.

This ceremony and event are proudly supported by the 76 Communications Regiment.

Each day from Nov 1-11, Operation Remembrance will release a video created by students from participating schools across the country.

Operation Remembrance – Day 5

100th Anniversary RCAF – George Barker, VC and Billy Bishop, VC

Students from HERITAGE ACADEMY (Ottawa, ON) will honour our WWI veterans:

Cyprus 2024 commemorates Canada’s contribution to the UN Force in Cyprus on the 60th anniversary of the mission, and the 50th anniversary of a forgotten war. For most Canadians, Cyprus was just a peacekeeping mission, unaware that their troops were caught in the middle of a war between two NATO allies. A pilgrimage of veterans and their families will return to Cyprus in Nov 2024, and the many untold stories of OP SNOWGOOSE and the events of 1974 will be collected. We shall remember the 28 Canadians who died in Cyprus and the sacrifice of all who served there.
