This memorial was dedicated on 14 September 1974. The land that the memorial is situated on was donated by Mac & Mann Trucking. Donations to construct the memorial were received from oil companies, local businesses and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

This "Wall of Honour" contains plaques of veterans who have resided in the Drayton Valley area and have since passed away. It was originally unveiled in May 2001, it was rededicated in May 2006. There were 89 names at the time of rededication.

This mural was created by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #269 in partnership with the Alberta Lotteries Board, the Municipal District of Brazeau, the Drayton Valley Agricultural Board, and the Canada Millennium Partnership Program. The mural depicts the faces of twenty-seven veterans from the First World War, Second World War, and Korea. A plaque situated across the street contains a legend with the names of the veterans depicted. It was officially unveiled in May 1999.
