The four sides and the base of the granite obelisk display engraved plaques commemorating those who served in the Armed Forces of Canada during the First and Second World Wars and in Korea. The names of 25 residents of Rutland and Ellison who paid the supreme sacrifice are individually engraved on plaques affixed to one side of the memorial. This memorial is refurbished by Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans, Kelowna Unit 276. This Memorial Park also contains a Memorial Walk consisting of a line of cement stones, each engraved with the names of a citizen of Rutland and Ellison who paid the supreme sacrifice during times of international conflict.

Wood Street was possibly named after Edward Stuart Wood. The City of Kamloops Heritage Commission initiated the Veterans Street Sign project to promote public awareness of the City’s heritage. To honour their Veterans the City of Kamloops added a poppy symbol to the Wood Street street sign in honour of Edward's son Captain Norman Clarke Wood who died while serving with the 17th Battalion in the First World War.

Tunstall Crescent honours Overlander George Christie Tunstall. The City of Kamloops Heritage Commission initiated the Veterans Street Sign project to promote public awareness of the City’s heritage. To honour their Veterans the City of Kamloops added a poppy symbol to the Tunstall Crescent street sign in honour of George's second cousin Private Marmaduke Christie Tunstall who died while serving with the Canadian Infantry during the First World War.

To honour their Veterans the City of Kamloops added a poppy symbol to the Pearse Place street sign in honour of Ernest's son Second Lieutenant Walter Josiah Pearse who died while serving with the Royal Horse Artillery during serving in the First World War.

Duck Road honours Jacob Duck (rancher/hotel at Monte Creek/Ducks. The City of Kamloops Heritage Commission initiated the Veterans Street Sign project to promote public awareness of the City’s heritage. To honour their Veterans the City of Kamloops added a poppy symbol to the Duck Road street sign in honour of Private Wilfred Albert Duck. Wilfred was the great-nephew of Jacob and he died while serving with the 54 Canadian Infantry during the First World War.

Neil John was the Nephew of Neil S. and he died while serving with the Royal Air Force during the First World War.

To honour their Veterans the City of Kamloops added a poppy symbol to the Clapperton Road street sign in honour of Sergeant Russell Haigh Clapperton. Russell was George's nephew and he died while serving with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals during the Second World War.
