a long climb, we had spent all morning getting up there, were
getting closer and closer this was increasing, increasing, jeez

from Army Headquarters for the 8th Army." He said, "What's it

got to the top of the hill a DC-3 loaded with crew and all the
dispatches for the 8th Army had sheared the top of the, of the
mountain and the bottom of the aircraft had hit and buried with
the crew and the rest took their heads off, you know, the top of
their bodies was off and it went down the other side and this
was all 8th Army including the mail. So one of the, one of the
wireless operators said, "Sir, this is the damnedest thing but,"
he said, "this is a letter for you." And it was from
my fiancé salvaged in air crash.
