October is Latin American Heritage Month (LAHM) in Canada and we are proud to showcase the richness and vitality of Latin American cultures and heritage and highlight their contributions to Canada. We are celebrating our 3rd Annual Commemoration Ceremony of the Latin American Community in Canada. As the Committee of Latin American Soldiers in Canada, we want to honour the contributions of Latin Americans to the defense of our country dating back to the First and Second World Wars. Many Latin Americans enlisted and served in the Canadian military and it was a difficult time for them. Many spoke Spanish as their native language, which was not common among other members of the military. That is why we want to pay tribute to them.
