Join us for a commemoration ceremony honouring the contributions of Latin Americans to Canada's defense, particularly those who served in the First and Second World War. October marks Latin American Heritage Month (LAHM) in Canada, celebrating the richness and vitality of Latin American cultures and heritage. This event highlights the significant role Latin Americans have played in shaping Canada's history. During World War I and II, many Latin Americans enlisted and served in the Canadian military, often facing unique challenges as Spanish-speaking individuals in a predominantly English-speaking force. This ceremony pays tribute to their bravery and sacrifices.
