2018 Veterans' Week Poster
#CanadaRemembers
2018 marks the centennial of "Canada's Hundred Days"-the series of impressive battlefield victories by the Canadian Corps over the last three months of the First World War. It is also the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that finally brought an end to four years of brutal conflict.
This special commemorative poster presents a composite of several historical images. At the bottom, our soldiers pass through the battered main square in Cambrai, in October 1918. Above is the silhouette of a kilt-wearing Canadian infantryman on the march. Behind him are members of the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles posing jubilantly on a tank in the aftermath of the Battle of Amiens in August 1918. At the top of the poster is the skyline of a devastated French town.
