Location:

Sancourt is a village in the Department of the Nord 5 kilometres north-west of Cambrai and one kilometre east of the main road to Douai. The SANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY is about 635 metres north-west of the village on the old Douai-Cambrai road.

  • Inscription– His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial (2010). Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. F J Lockhart was missing in action and his body was later found in 1936. He is buried at Sancourt British Cemetery. May they never be forgotten.(J. Stephens)
