Newspaper clipping – nformation re crash from RAF Bomber Command operations: On the night of 24 April 1944, Lancaster ND 876 was airborne at 2053 from its home base Skellingthorpe on an operation to Munich and joined a force of 234 Lancasters and 16 Mosquitos of No. 5 Group and 10 Lancasters of No. 1 Group. ND 876 was hit by Flak over the target, breaking in two sections and falling at Munchen-Laim 0154 on the 25th. The raid was accurate and successful, but nine Lancasters were lost. [ND876 was delivered to 50 Squadron 8Apr44. When lost it had a total of 26 hours.] P/O Brock and 23-year old F/S (AG) Joseph N. G. R. Casaubon, from Cardinal, Ont. , were the only Canadians on the crew. They are buried in the Durnbach War Cemetery along with the five RAF members. They are: F/O (P) Lennox Durham, DFC, RAF, age 24, from Australia Sgt. (FE) Francis P. Brown F.S (N) Eric S. Jones, age 21, from Cambridge F/S (WAG) Dennis L. Reynolds, age 21, from Cheshire F/S (AG) Norman Jackson, age 19, from Yorkshire
