Jonkerbos War Cemetery – Photo courtesy of Frans van Cappellen, The Netherlands Buried here is the crew of Wellington X3420 who took off at 1806 14 Feb 43 from Dishforth. Shot down by a night-fighter and crashed 2100 between Heel and Beegden (Limburg). All were initially taken to Venlo for burial. They have been subsequently re-interred in Jonkerbos War Cemetery. Killed was PIlot W/C S.S.Blanchard. the Commander of 426 Sqdn. Also killed was 2nd Pilot Sgt K.W.Tutton; P/O P.W.Jeanneret; Sgt A.G.Longwell; F/S J.H.Eveline, and RAF Sgt P.M.Corley KIA (Source: www.lostbombers.co.uk)

Plaque – Ex-cadets are named on the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario and in memorial stained glass windows to fallen comrades. 2075 W/C Sedley Stewart Blanchard (RMC 1929) He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, 426 Sqdn He died on Feb 14, 1943 at 31 years of age. He was buried in the Jonkerbos War Cemetery in Njmegen, Netherlands 18 G 2.
