Photo courtesy of Frans van Cappellen, The Netherlands F/O Dunand was Wireless/Air Gunner on Lancaster aircraft ED 440 which took part in the following key Operations: Berlin 16/17Dec43; Dusseldorf 27/28Jan43; Hamburg 30/31Jan43; Cologne 2/3Feb43-L When lost this aircraft had a total of 25 hours. The crew were airborne 1851 2Feb43 from Fiskerton. Shot down by a night-fighter, crashing 2113 2Feb43 between Kessel and Helden (Limburg), where those killed were initially buried. They have since been re-interred in the Jonkerbos War cemetery. Killed with F/O Dunand was FS (OB) Hiam Magder from Toronto. Four members of the RAF were also killed and one survived and was taken PoW. -
