  • Portrait of Arthur Ross Ackerman– Arthur Ross Ackerman (Military Cross) was the son of Benjamin and Charlotte Ackerman of Peterborough, Ontario. He was born on  September 14, 1893. He enlisted on  September 22, 1914.  He served with the 57th Regiment, 2nd Canadian (Eastern Ontario) Battalion, 1st L.T.M.B.  He was wounded during the Battle of the Somme on  September 23, 1916.  He died of his wounds at age 23 on October 11, 1916  in England. He was interred in the Little Lake Cemetery, Peterborough, Ontario in November, 1916.
