Brother of Flying Officer Walter Stewart, who was killed in action while serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Brother of James (RCAF), Alister (RCN), John, Gordon (RCN), Stanley, Robert, Douglas (Cdn Army), Ross (Cdn Army), Katie, Agnes, and June.

Plouguerneau is a village and commune 24 kilometres north of Brest. It is about 4 kilometres from the coast, on a secondary road which turns off the main Lesneven-Lannilis Road. The PLOUGUERNEAU COMMUNAL CEMETERY is on the Southern side of the village and on the eastern side of the local road to Lannilis.
