St-Joseph-de-Beuce
Baptized Léopold-Alphonse Drouin. Son of Nazaire Drouin (deceased in 1907) and Marie Lessard, of St-Joseph-de-Beauce.
He first enrolled in Québec on 4 November 1914 (service number 932), soon after the 22nd Battalion was formed, but it does not appear that he joined the unit in Saint John and his service was probably short term, as he is not listed in the 22nd Battalion’s lists at that time. He stated being born on 22 September 1890 when he first enrolled and born on 22 September 1888 when he enrolled a second time.
His name is inscribed « Léo Paul » in the Book of Remembrance but he was recorded Léopold when he was baptized and he signed Léopold. Some documents are missing in his military file.
Commemorated on Page 230 of the First World War Book of Remembrance. Request a copy of this page. Download high resolution copy of this page.
