Son of Archibald Harris Brushett and Louisa Sellars, of St. John, New Brunswick. Husband of Phyllis Jean Escott. Father of two children, including Anne Bernice Brushett.
On February 26, 1941. the Empire Steelhead was targeted by a German aircraft which dropped some bombs and damaged her about 10 miles (16 km) from Cromarty, Scotland, in the North Sea, position 080°. Seven sailors were killed.
