(239th Battn)  Born in Barry Ontario on March 4th 1878  He enlisted at Vancouver BC on Sept. 18th 1916. he listed prior military service with the 72nd Battn. Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. His occupation was listed as "Merchant".  His wife Mary G. Marpole lived in Shaughnessy Heights Vancouver BC.  Captain Marpole Died in Vancouver BC while on furlough on July 16th 1918 at the age of 40.  He was laid to rest in the Mountain View Cemetery of Vancouver BC.
