  • Memorial– Pte. George Gloyn's name appears on this Memorial Tablet.  St. Paul's was founded in 1822 as the first Roman Catholic parish in York (now Toronto).  The present church was designed by Joseph Connelly in 1889 and was renamed St. Paul's Basilica in 1999.  The WWI Memorial plaque is located outside the front entrance of the church.  The Basilica is located in downtown Toronto on the corner of Power and Queen Street.
