Son of Mrs. Burdot Green of Port Hope, Ontario. When wounded, the Commanding Officer of the 75th Battalion spoke of him in these words, "I cannot speak too highly of the courage and soldierly bearing of this hero and I assure you that his loss is distinctly felt throughout the Battalion and at the Divisional Sports"

Noeux-les-Mines is a town 6 kilometres south of Bethune on the main road to Arras. The Communal Cemetery is on the northern side of the town on the south-east of the road to Labourse. The NOEUX-LES-MINES COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION is on the west side of the Communal Cemetery.
