Baptized Joseph-Edmond-Valmore Antoine. Son of Simon Antoine and Évangélina Paquet, of Montréal (Hochelaga), Québec. He stated being born on 20 June 1894 when he enlisted.

He was killed in action during the Battle of Chérisy, Pas-de-Calais, France, during the Allied offensive from Neuville-Vitasse towards Wancourt.

Take the D38 from Cherisy to Hendecourt. Approximately 2 kilometres from Cherisy turn left just before Sun Quarry Cemetery onto a dirt track. Continue for 1 kilometre before turning left to arrive at Quebec Cemetery.
