Location:

Serre is a village 11 kilometres north-north-east of Albert. Using the D919 from Arras to Amiens you will drive through the villages of Bucquoy, Puisieux then Serre Les Puisieux (approximately 20 kilometres south of Arras). On leaving Serre Les Puisieux, 1.3 kilometres further along the D919, SERRE ROAD CEMETERY NO 2 can be found on the left hand side.

  • Inscription– His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial (2010). Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. He was discovered and exhumed at a later date and now rests in a marked grave.May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens)
  • Photo of Herbert Beck– Enlisted in Windsor with teh 99th Battaion on February 5th, 1916. Transferred to the 19th Battalion. Killed in actin at the Somme.
