  • Newspaper clipping– This report appeared in the Northern Advance newspaper (Barrie, Ontario), at page 1, on 22 February 1900.  Although the report is mainly about Private J. H. Finlay, it also at the end mentions Private Arthur Maundrell, Royal Canadian Regiment of Infantry, who had been born and raised in Barrie, and who too was killed in the heavy fighting on the Modder River near Paardeberg.
