Son of Fred Thomas of New Edinburgh, Ontario. Corporal Thomas was connected with the Governor General's Foot Guards for many years and at the time of his enlistment in "D" company was Senior Sergeant in No. 5 Coy. He was an enthusiastic soldier, constant attendance at all regiment classes and has two long service badges. Corporal Thomas comes from old military stock and has five other brothers connected with the militia, all having passed through the Governor General's Foot Guard.
