The original mural at Wiarton Cenotaph was damaged by water in 2021 and the Legion Branch 208 engaged in a project to replace it. The new mural by artist Silvia Pecota depicts the communities involvement in conflicts from 1812 to present day and recognizes Indigenous Veterans from nearby Neyaashiinigmiing. It was unveiled on May 25, 2024.

The digital image took her nearly a year to complete, including military research, photographing local community members, working with military historians, and a steep learning curve dealing with art at this scale. Depicted in the mural are Canadian Infantry Soldiers 3rd Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment Task Force Afghanistan (2001-2011), the 48th Highlanders of Canada (First World War), Motorized Transport assigned to Canadian Military Headquarters in London, England (1941-1946), a dog carrying an apparatus for laying telephone wires on the Western Front First World War, and Indigenous warriors who battled in the War of 1812.
