This memorial was unveiled in 1921 by the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire and dedicated to those of the community who fell in the First World War.

It was rededicated by the city of Aylmer on 11 November 1992 to the local war dead and Veterans of the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. The top slab was lifted and placed on a new tier which was inscribed with French text. The supporting stones for the top slab were removed and the years for Afghanistan were added to the sides of the top slab.
