North Korean Leaflets and PA Systems
Well, we always had “bed check Charlie” fly
over and sometimes he'd drop - little by plane -
and drop leaflets or a grenade or two,
you know, stuff like that.
And they had a big powerful speaker system
and they would play music and they would
of course play an audio about why
are we here in their country killing their
people and when the brass or the politicians
and the brass, or the politicians I guess,
are home sleeping with your wives and
good things like that you know, make you think.
They'd like to come on this speaker system
and imply to you that there were no secrets.
That we didn't have any secrets,
they knew it all.
When our 3rd Battalion moved into position,
they welcomed that 3rd Battalion.
In many cases they were in a position where
they looked down on our positions and
it couldn't be better for them.
So there's no reason why they shouldn't
have been able to determine company
movement and personnel
movement or whatever, and they did.
