This memorial commemorates all members of the unit who fell during the Somme offensive of 1916 and in particular describes the actions on 26 September during the Battle of Theipval Ridge. CIMETIÈRE BRITANNIQUE DE CONTAY Somme, France
Contay est un village du département de la Somme situé sur la route principale allant d'Amiens à Arras. Le cimetière se trouve à gauche (au nord-est) de la route qui mène à Franvillers, et on y a accès sans difficulté. Il y a un panneau routier de la Commission des sépultures de guerre du Commonwealth à côté de l'église et de la place du village et également près du panneau qui indique la route D23, la route de Franvillers à Corbie. La distance entre le panneau de la Commission des sépultures de guerre du Commonwealth et le cimetière est de 650 mètres environ.
