This photograph published in the Winnipeg Evening Tribune is actually Sjt. John Dye DCM MM, 43rd Battalion Cameron Highlanders originally from Montrose Scotland. NOT Pte. John Dye of the 27th Battalion killed in September 1916. Sjt. John Dye 43rd Battalion was mistakenly listed as killed in action, and later wrote the newspaper to say he’s alive and well. He was wounded three times, once a gunshot wound to the chest, and survived the war.

CIMETIÈRE BRITANNIQUE DE POZIÈRES Somme, France
Pozières est un village situé à quelques 6 kilomètres au nord-est d'Albert, et le cimetière britannique de Pozières, qui est ceinturé par le monument commémoratif de Pozières, se trouve légèrement au sud-ouest du village, sur le côté nord de la route principale, la D929, qui s'étend d'Albert à Pozières.
