Twenty year career, I have seen a lot of changes from how we are perceived. There were some dark days where we weren’t very well received by the public and Afghanistan definitely changed that during my career. To see the, to go places in uniform and people would just walk up and say thank you for your service, that means more than anything and that’s all we could really ask for is the acknowledgement that, you know, we are not told to join the military. We join the military because we want to do something, we want to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We want to give back country, Canada, our family, you know, those who came before us. Those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. It’s not about a pay cheque, you know, just a simple thank you it goes to me that means a lot.
