He was a native of Hamilton, Ontario. He served with the Royal Field Artillery, 88th Bde. He died on Oct 31, 1916. He was buried in the Aveluy Communal Cemetery in Somme, France.

Aveluy est un village du département de la Somme, juste au nord d'Albert. Le cimetière communal se trouve dans le village et l'annexe est du côté sud du cimetière communal.
