Cadet Gilbert's grave, located in the Elmvale Presbyterian Cemetery, Queen Street East, Elmvale, Ontario, is marked by a standard Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstone. Also commemorated on this memorial are his parents and three of his five siblings. (One brother, Albert Gordon Gilbert, 1889-1980,is named on the reverse side of this memorial.)
