Alan MacGregor

Courtice, Ontario

Mr. MacGregor is a civilian who has been an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 39 years. During this time, he has served on numerous committees and held several offices and executive positions. As an active member of Branch #637 in Oshawa, Mr. MacGregor has coordinated all aspects of the Nevada Break open ticket sales, the proceeds of which are donated to charitable organizations in Oshawa. He has served as 3rd vice president and Poppy Campaign chairman of the Branch, as well as chairman of the Trillium Committee, achieving success in obtaining a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Mr. MacGregor serves not only those affiliated with his branch, but any Veteran or spouse who needs assistance in the Oshawa area. He willingly takes on any and all tasks, from obtaining a wheelchair or walker to the repatriation of the body of a Veteran who passed away while on vacation outside the country. Mr. MacGregor is selfless in his dedication to Veterans. He was named Branch Legionnaire of the Year in 2008. In 2011, he received the newly created Royal Canadian Legion Branch Service Medal.
